PC Pros is owner-operated, so customers work directly with the person responsible for diagnosing the problem and helping them find a solution.
Meet Rick
I’m Rick Aued, the owner of PC Pros. My technology background spans systems engineering, corporate networks, systems implementation, computer and network support, website development, and software projects. Over the years, I have worked with technology at many different levels—from enterprise systems and business networks to the everyday computers, software, and connectivity problems people rely on someone to solve.
I have always preferred a practical approach to technology. Sometimes the right answer is a repair or upgrade. Sometimes it is a setting, a software change, a better backup plan, or simply explaining what is happening in language that makes sense.
That same approach carries into the way I work with customers today: understand the problem first, explain the realistic options, and avoid recommending technology simply because it is newer or more expensive.
Technology Keeps Changing. So Does the Work.
Earlier in my career, I spent more than 13 years with TRW Systems Integration Group as a systems engineer, working first with mainframe systems and later with corporate local-area networks. I then spent more than two years with Intellidata as a systems implementation engineer during the dot-com era. Those roles gave me a strong systems background and firsthand experience with how quickly technology—and the way businesses depend on it—can change.
Computer support has changed dramatically over the years. Today, solving technology problems can involve Windows, networking, cloud services, websites, software, security, automation, and increasingly artificial intelligence.
In addition to traditional computer and network support, I continue to work with website development, software projects, and AI-assisted development tools. That includes learning how to communicate effectively with AI systems, developing detailed prompts and workflows, evaluating the results, testing what is produced, and refining it until it works as intended.
I view AI as another technology tool—not a substitute for experience, judgment, or responsibility. Used well, it can accelerate research, troubleshooting, software development, and website work. The human part still matters: defining the problem correctly, knowing what to question, testing the result, and deciding whether the answer actually makes sense.
